Total Log Cabin team is off to another restoration job. This time, the team went to beautiful Tuckasegee, North Carolina, located in Jackson County. As always, upon arrival of the job site, the team started prepping the log cabin and the cabin’s perimeter.
cabin area is first cleared of any deck furniture, wall decorations, or any items that could damage easily from the power washer that will be used in the strip and cleaning process. Next, all the exterior lighting is covered and taped up with a heavy plastic wrap, to waterproof the light and prevent any electric shortage. Downspouts are removed for a clear access to the corner of the cabin, as well as, preventing any damage. And finally, the vegetation surrounding the cabin is covered with drop cloths for protection.
inspection, the customer had pointed out many issues with carpenter bees. After cleaning the cabin, the team set out to fill all the bee holes, and reinforced any missing or loose caulking.
job was a maintenance restoration. No stripping was needed, just a good cleaning and recoating the logs with the customers choice of stain. For the most part, this cabin was in good shape. No carpentry work was needed.
