Today, the boys are in Chapel Hill, NC to work on a maintenance job. A maintenance restoration is not a full restoration. This log home will receive a pressure washer cleaning and a re-coat with Perma-Chink Gloss finish.
As with any restoration job, the process is the same when it comes to preparation of the log home and property. William is the team leader on this job and he gets the crew started on the preparation process. The decks are cleared, and all furniture is removed, The gutter downspouts are also removed to protect them from stain as well as an easy access to the corner. of the home, All the exterior lighting will also be covered and taped to protect and prevent electrical shortage.
William will start cleaning with the company’s own cleaning solution. This solution is added and applied through the pressure washer making sure that all dirt and mold is removed from the logs. The log home is in good shape so no carpentry is needed here.
The crew will inspect all the caulking around the home, and replace as needed. This of course includes the window and door frames.
A Borate treatment is applied to ensure protection from wood eating insects.
Because this is a maintenance job, only one coat of Perma-Chink Gloss will be applied. And as always, the boys will clean the job site and wash the windows before leaving.
