Once our TLCR crew arrived at the Mooresville, NC property they immediately got to work restoring this gorgeous log home. First, the crew carefully protects all the doors, windows, lights and landscaping using a durable plastic protector. The crew was ready to begin the TLCR by applying a stripping agent to all the logs, trim, and windows. The agent removes all debris and product from the surface of the log home. Our TLCR crew is always extremely careful not to damage any logs, that is why they only use a low-grade power presser of 800 psi to wash away any debris from the surface. After the old product and any debris are removed from the log home TLCR then applies one coat of neutralizer to brighten the logs. The neutralizer also helps to bring the pH level in the wood to accept the stain. Once the log home is completed rinsed down the TLCR crew uses a moisture meter to determine the wood is dry enough to accept the TWP stain. After the wood is dried TLCR crew sands the logs to remove any frayed areas. This gives the logs a beautiful smooth finish.

TLCR only uses the best products, that is why we apply Perma- Chink’s Shell-Guard RTU and Bee Gone to protect every log cabin home. It is important that every log home remains beautiful for as long as possible. Both products are treatments to combat against beetles and other insects that love to attack and eat the wood. Shell-Guard RTU is colorless, odorless, and has a very low level of toxicity to people and pets and is effective for preventing wood decay and insect damage. Next Caulking! To caulk our log home our TLCR crew uses Perma- Chink’s Energy Seal. This seal prevents water log damage and keeps the bugs out! Energy Seal offers more elasticity when the logs are moving than other sealing products offer. TLCR caulks all around the inside and outside corners as well as the window and door jams. TLCR caulks where water is entering. Backer rod will be used where needed. This prevents caulking from cracking and pulling away from the home. Once the home has been restored the TLCR crew focuses their attention on restoring the Deck and Rails. All loose or broken logs are replaced and nailed down. Lastly, the log home earns its beautiful TWP Total Wood Preservative Stain! This stain lasts forever and costs less!
